Debendranath Tagore established Tatvabhodini Sabha in 1839.

The Indian National Congress at Lahore session on Dec 31, 1929 resolved that the attainment of complete independence as its goal.

The British prime minister Ramsay Mac Donald fixed seats in the Provincial legislatures for various communities. Separate electorates were given to depressed class.  This was known as Communal Award.  

As per this Award Muslims got more electorates and Hindus got less based on their population.

Woods Despatch was called as Magna Carta of Indian education.

After the death of Raja Ram Mohan Roy Brahma Samaj was divided into Brahma Samaj of India and Adi Brahma Samaj.  Brahma Samaj of India was headed by Keshab Chandra Sen and Adi Brahma Samaj was headed by Debendranath Tagore.

Mahtma Gandhi strongly protested against communal award.  He thought that it was made to separate depressed classes from Hindus.  So Gandhiji went on fast unto death.  The leaders of depressed classes came to understanding with Hindus at Poona and a partially joint electorates were accepted for depressed classes.  Gandhiji broke on his fast.

On June 5, 1945 Wavell Plan was made at Simla conference.

M.N. Roy was the first Indian who was elected to the leadership of communist international.

Guru Nanak (1469-1539)  was the founder of Sikh religion.  Adi Gradh contains his teachings.
